Wire-off
Each year, hundreds of electrical apprentices enroll in the IEC apprenticeship training programs across the country and put their skills to the test by completing challenges in several categories. Apprentices with the top G.P.A. from the fourth-year program at IEC Greater St. Louis will participate in the competition that occurs during the Trade Show. The Wire-Off is a full-day of challenges consisting of basic motor control circuits, line diagrams, materials, circuit installation, and more.

The top competitor from each chapter across the nation goes on to compete in the National Competition at the IEC National Convention. The 2022 National Convention takes place October 5-8 in Louisville, Kentucky. For the St. Louis competitor it is an all-expenses paid trip with tools provided by Milwaukee Tool.
The St. Louis Wire Off is proud to feature our top four apprentices who maintained a 93% average for all four years.
