Thank you to everyone who participated in the Blood Drive this week. We had a great turnout and are very lucky to have the staff and student body that we do. Here are some pictures of the event.

On August 20, 2019 3-6pm, Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will be coming to the IEC  for a blood drive.

Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) is the exclusive provider of blood products. The Blood Center provides service to hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin. The Blood Center is based in Davenport, and Iowa. MVRBC’s testing center handles around 250,000 units of blood each year. MVRBC is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.

Established in 1971 and based in Springfield, Illinois, Central Illinois Community Blood Center (CICBC), a not-for-profit organization, merged with MVRBC in 2010. CICBC continues to serve the central Illinois community.

Community Blood Services of Illinois (CBSI) was organized in 1972. They  supply life-saving blood needed by critically ill and injured people. In 2011, CBSI merged with MVRBC. CBSI now forms the Eastern Division of MVRBC.

In addition to its Davenport headquarters, the Blood Center has regional distribution hubs in central Illinois (Peoria, IL and Springfield, Ill., operating as Central Illinois Community Blood Center), eastern Illinois (Urbana, Ill., operating as Community Blood Services of Illinois); southeastern Iowa (Ottumwa, IA) and the St. Louis region (Maryland Heights, MO and Maryville, IL).
