Jeff Wyatt takes 2nd at Nationals!

2021 IEC Greater St. Louis Wire-Off

Each year, hundreds of electrical apprentices enrolled in the IEC apprenticeship training programs across the country and put their skills to the test by completing challenges in several categories. The top competitor from each chapter across the nation went on to compete in the IEC National Competition at the IEC National Convention. This year, the convention took place on October 5-9 in Denver Colorado.

This year four of the twenty-six apprentices with the top G.P.A. from the fourth-year program at IEC Greater St. Louis participated in the competition. The Wire-Off is a full-day of challenges consisting of basic motor control circuits, line diagrams, materials, and circuit installation, and more. The 2021, IEC of Greater St. Louis apprentice of the year is Jeff Wyatt from Extreme Electrical Contractors.

Jeff Wyatt went on to represent IEC of Greater St. Louis in the National Wire-off competition. There he was faced with similar electrical challenges; all were at a much higher difficulty level. Jeff worked hard and took second place in the National competition.
